The Review Meeting of Nature Conservation Project was jointly organized by the UNESCAP and Irbis Mongolia on 19-20 October in Hustain National Park, Mongolia. The discussion and outcome of the meeting are as follows.
• The meeting reviewed the overall goals, approaches and activities that have been undertaken during the last two years, presented the remaining tasks and requested the continuing supports and inputs from the national collaborating centres.
• The meeting finalized the nature conservation strategy of NEASPEC for the submission to the 12th SOM for its adoption.
• The National Institute for Environmental Research of the ROK presented the current preparation on database, which would be completed by early 2007. As the Institute is designated as the North-East Asian Centre for Environmental Data and Training, the Institute takes responsibility for designing and operating a web-based database for the six target species.
• The meeting reviewed the outcome and plan of the following pilot projects.

(2) Field Survey Training for Monitoring of Snow Leopard Population, 11-17 October 2006, Gobi Gurvansaikhan National Park, Mongolia
(3) International Meeting on the Establishment of Trilateral Cooperation Network towards Reducing Poaching and Trade of Snow Leopard, 14-17 November, 2006, Ulaangom, Mongolia
(4) Training Workshop for Younger Researchers on Conservation of Cranes and Black-faced Spoonbill in North East Asia, 19-25 November 2006, Izumi and Fukuoka, Japan
