NEASPEC 28th Senior Officials Meeting
NEASPEC 28th Senior Officials Meeting (SOM-28) will be organized on 22-23 September in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia.
SOM is an annual occasion to review the NEASPEC activities, discuss strengthening cooperation, and formulate new initiatives. The upcoming SOM is expected to review all the progress made in 2025 and plan for 2026, as well as a new strategic plan for 2026-2030.

Short presentations to be made by the secretariat and partner institutions for each programme area, followed by interventions from the member States.
The meeting will review the state of the Core Fund and project-based funds of NEASPEC. It will also review and approve the proposed budget plan and results framework for 2026-2030. Member States are invited to announce intended cash and/or in-kind contributions for the new cycle 2026-2030.
The meeting will review and approve the NEASPEC Strategic Plan 2026-2030.
The meeting will invite member State hosting the 29th Senior Officials Meeting (SOM-29) to inform on provisional plan for SOM-29 organization.
The meeting may raise any other issues not covered under the abovementioned items.
The report on the meeting consists of two major parts: (i) the conclusions and recommendations, and (ii) the proceedings of the Senior Officials Meeting. The first part (i.e. conclusions and recommendations) will be adopted at SOM-28, and the second part (i.e., proceedings) will be prepared by the secretariat after the meeting and will be circulated to the member States for review and approval.
